Norway-based technology corporation Kongsberg Gruppen has secured a dollar contract with Kiev to supply Ukrainian forces with an advanced anti-drone system, Sputnik reported citing an official statement by the Norwegian government.
"Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace has been awarded a contract to supply a newly developed anti-drone system worth 740 million Norwegian kroner to Ukraine," the government said in a statement.
The contract aims to bolster Ukraine's capacity in countering aerial challenges in the war with Russia.
The Norwegian government noted that the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), which Noway is part of, would be financing this crucial acquisition.

It was reported that German chancellor Olaf Scholz is under mounting pressure to provide cruise missiles to Ukraine to bolster its faltering counteroffensive.
Two lawmakers in Scholz’s Social Democrat party (SPD), which has often been more cautious than its coalition partners, have recently joined a chorus of voices calling for Swedish-German-made Taurus missiles to be sent to Kiev.
Andreas Schwarz, an SPD member of parliament, told German news outlet Der Spiegel that the counteroffensive is "faltering" due to a lack of Ukrainian air power.
“That leaves only guided missiles such as Taurus cruise missiles, with which the Ukrainian army could overcome the minefields laid by the Russians and recapture territory.”
