Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Sunday that a nuclear agreement with the United States is achievable, provided that Washington halts its policy of pressure and coercion toward Tehran.
Speaking during a meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Pezeshkian affirmed Iran's openness to diplomacy, but emphasized that any agreement must be rooted in mutual respect.
"An agreement with the US [on Iran's nuclear program] is achievable, but a fundamental condition is necessary for this: the US side must stop imposing its conditions and intimidating Iran. Under no circumstances will we submit to force," he was quoted as saying by his office.

Iran rejects pressure in nuclear talks
The statement underscores Iran’s long-standing stance that negotiations with the US must be conducted without threats or unilateral conditions. Pezeshkian’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions over the revival or reformulation of the nuclear deal, known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
At the Tehran Dialogue Forum 2025, Pezeshkian strongly defended Iran’s peaceful nuclear policy, affirming the country’s right to pursue nuclear technology strictly for civilian purposes.
Responding to Western accusations, he said, “Others continue to claim that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons. These are nothing but baseless, warmongering allegations.”
He added, “Even the US President said, ‘We must make sure Iran doesn’t have nuclear weapons.’ Fine — let them come and verify. We have nothing to hide. We are neither pursuing nor believe in building nuclear weapons.”
