Opening northern front 'strategic stupidity': Ex-Israeli official
The former deputy chairman of the Israeli "National Security Council" told Israeli media that "Israel" does not have the ability or capabilities to confront Hezbollah on the northern border.
Israeli media confirmed today, Wednesday, that “Israel” is in the worst situation since its establishment in terms of readiness for opening a war on the northern front against Hezbollah.
The former deputy chairman of the Israeli "National Security Council", Eran Etzion, during statements to the Israeli Kan channel, described the decision to open a front with the "strongest enemy" on the northern border, Hezbollah, as "strategic stupidity".
Etzion said, "Israel's ability to change the security reality in the north exists to a certain extent, but the ability to eliminate, neutralize, and erase Hezbollah from the face of the earth does not exist with Israel."

Etzion proposed addressing the Hezbollah threat in the north in a wise and long-term manner, stressing that it needs to be done "by a new Israeli government and not by the current failed government."
Moreover, the former official called on the subsequent Israeli government to "prepare a new plan for the northern front without relying on Resolution 1701, which ended the Second Lebanon War."
As for a solution to confront Hezbollah, Etzion stressed that it "does not exist at all."
Etzion even explained that "Israel" should not plant illusions among the settlers that they will return to the settlements claiming that they would have "eliminated Hezbollah" at the border; rather, "they will return" with Hezbollah still there.
Danger intensifying in the North: Israeli media
Israeli newspaper Maariv tackled the military developments on the Lebanese-Palestinian occupied border, known as the Northern Front, and speculated that the current tense situation along the northern border, where Israeli settlers demand the immediate "removal of the Hezbollah threat or they won't return home, is reminiscent of June 8, 1967, during the Six-Day War."
The newspaper added that at a time when the IOF are mainly focused on the war on Gaza, the release of captives, and the "eradication" of Palestinian Resistance factions, "the northern border is becoming a very worrying nuisance for tens of thousands of residents of the north, to whom facing Hezbollah is a real threat."
It went on to say that "Israel" cannot afford to "live and exist under any threat, especially not the looming danger posed by tens of thousands of missiles, rockets, anti-tank missiles, and various types of drones, including some that are precise and deadly," in reference to the mounting military strength of the Lebanese Resistance.
It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation's concern is growing about the northern front, as operations by Hezbollah in support of Gaza continue amid the genocide being perpetrated by the IOF. These operations also serve as a response to the Israeli attacks on villages in southern Lebanon, which led to the killing of several civilians, including three children and a journalist.
