Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stated that "Iran's defensive and combat readiness is far greater than it was in the previous four months" and that the country is "at its peak right now."
Rezaei stated that Iran is "prepared to respond to any attack with a decisive, destructive retaliation," warning that anyone who considers attacking Iran "will receive a response that is more severe and destructive than previous ones."
He added that Iran's current situation is not the same as it was before the joint Israeli-American aggression, emphasizing that while they are not advocates of war, they will respond with multiplied force in the event of any war. Reazei further stressed that his country is prepared to thwart sanctions just as it has thwarted them in the past.
The spokesperson's statements echo what IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour declared after inspecting the naval units at Gulf bases and visiting the operational units stationed on the islands and assessing their combat readiness.
Addressing the naval units, the IRGC commander declared that "just as the armed forces brought the Zionist regime and the United States to their knees in the 12-day imposed war, if any movement is made by the enemies in the sea and islands, the IRGC Navy will respond with all might."
Similarly, on October 2, Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh reaffirmed the country's full preparedness to defend its sovereignty against the expanding US military activity in the region.
Nasirzadeh declared that "Iran is ready to defend its country regardless of the movements of US cargo aircraft toward the region" while also urging national institutions to remain steadfast against "the psychological war being waged by the enemy."
