Over 100 pro-Palestine protests to take place across UK over weekend
PSC, Stop the War, the Muslim Association of Britain, Friends of Al-Aqsa, and others will continue marches on November 25, as organizers express their adamancy of continuing to do so until a ceasefire is reached.
More than 100 pro-Palestine events across the UK will take place over the weekend to demand a ceasefire in Gaza in the form of vigils, protests, and fundraisers.
Director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Ben Jamal, stated that the protests were organized to demonstrate that “ordinary people” support a ceasefire in Gaza.
“They will show their solidarity with Palestinians who are suffering unimaginable harm. They will also demand the root causes are not forgotten: Israel’s decades-long military occupation of Palestinian territories and its system of apartheid against Palestinians”, he said.

Organizer group Stop The War Coalition's spokesperson stated, “Groups around the country are organizing local rallies and marches to basically build for the national demonstration that has been called for next Saturday," adding, “I think most of them have speakers from various organizations that are involved in the main marches... Some of them have trade unionists as speakers, and some of them are marching, like the one in Highbury.”
'No place for hate'... in London?
In response, the Metropolitan Police has amped up security and claims that they are to conduct deployments in areas “with significant Jewish or Muslim communities.. which continue to experience increased uncertainty and fear in light of events in the Middle East and their impact here in London."
Temporary Commander and lead of the policing operation, Karen Findlay, clarified that the Met “are here to ensure that people can exercise their right to protest but to make sure that is done lawfully and that unreasonable disruption to the lives of other Londoners is kept to a minimum.”
“Our officers will intervene swiftly where they see offenses taking place. In particular, I want to reiterate that there is no place for hate in London. Hate crime will not be tolerated.”
She even admitted that most of the protests have been peaceful.
The marches, organized by PSC, Stop the War, the Muslim Association of Britain, Friends of Al-Aqsa, and others will continue on November 25, as organizers express their adamancy of continuing to do so until a ceasefire is reached.
So long, Suella!
They say what goes around comes around - and former Home Secretary Suella Braverman can testify to that.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak dismissed Suella Braverman last week from the position of Home Secretary, citing her role in escalating tensions during Armistice Day protests. James Cleverly, the Foreign Secretary, has been appointed as her immediate replacement.
Braverman was criticized by police and Labour for fueling tensions leading to far-right clashes near the Cenotaph. She demanded further action against pro-Palestine marches in her first public statement since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
It is worth noting that pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched peacefully through central London on Saturday disrupted by clashes between right-wing counter-protesters and the police as the former sought to disturb the peaceful protests.

The UK's former Home Secretary has built deep ties within Zionist circles pushing her to adopt Zionist rhetoric, as she calls on London police to deal firmly with pro-Palestine protests.
Western officials such as Braverman have worked to demonize individuals and groups who call for the liberation of Palestine from Zionist occupation, saying that such justified demands are "anti-semitic".
Her dangerous remarks come at a time when "Israel" has killed over 12,000 Palestinians, including at least 5,000 children, a clear act of genocide and ethnic cleansing.
