The United States carried out three airstrikes on Thursday targeting the government complex in the Mukayras district, located in southern al-Bayda province in central Yemen, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
The latest attack follows a series of US airstrikes launched on Wednesday across several Yemeni governorates, including Sanaa, al-Jawf, and al-Hodeidah. One civilian was killed in a strike that hit a residential area in the al-Nahda neighborhood, north of the capital.
Intensified campaign targets Red Sea, northern Yemen
On Tuesday, US fighter jets carried out 15 airstrikes on Kamaran Island in the Red Sea. Additional strikes targeted al-Salim and Kitaf districts in Saada province, northern Yemen, with at least 13 more airstrikes reported in that area.
Since mid-March, the United States has renewed its military campaign in Yemen, conducting widespread aerial bombardments that have resulted in approximately 340 casualties, including both dead and wounded, in addition to significant infrastructure damage.
US offensive failing to halt Yemen’s support for Gaza
Earlier today, Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badreddine al-Houthi stated that the US military carried out over 220 airstrikes this week alone, utilizing stealth aircraft, F-18 jets, and other warplanes. He claimed that more than 900 air and naval strikes have taken place across Yemen over the past month.
Sayyed al-Houthi reiterated that the US campaign has failed to achieve its objectives and has not deterred Yemen’s ongoing support for Gaza. "Despite targeting many civilian sites, the American aggression is failing and will never succeed in halting our operations in support of the Palestinian people," he said.
Support for Gaza continues amid airstrikes
Despite the ongoing air campaign, authorities in Sanaa confirmed that their operations in support of Gaza remain active.
These include missile and drone strikes targeting deep inside occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the continued obstruction of Israeli maritime navigation and attacks on US destroyers and hostile naval vessels in regional waters.
Officials framed these actions as direct responses to what they describe as US-Israeli aggression and a show of solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Hypersonic strikes on 'Israel'
Highlighting recent military actions, Sayyed al-Houthi said Yemen’s armed forces conducted missile and drone operations targeting Israeli-occupied cities, including Yaffa and Askalan, during Passover.
"These were symbolic ‘holiday gifts’ for the criminal enemy," he remarked, referencing the launch of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, including the Zolfaghar variant.
He added that Yemen’s forces also engaged US assets, including targeting the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, which he said had been forced into a purely defensive posture.
"The deployment of additional US carriers only confirms Truman’s failure to achieve American goals. It shows that Yemen’s position is powerful and influential," he stressed.
78 operations in one month
According to Sayyed al-Houthi, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out 78 operations over the past month, involving 171 ballistic, cruise, hypersonic missiles, and drones. These included:
33 operations against US naval vessels with 122 projectiles
4 strikes using Quds missiles on surveillance, refueling, and combat aircraft in the Red Sea
11 aerial interception missions targeting US jets, including stealth aircraft
26 operations targeting Israeli positions with 30 ballistic and drone attacks
He noted the downing of a 19th MQ-9 Reaper drone, calling it a strategic achievement given the US reliance on such aircraft.
