In the past and due to operations by the southern, central, and eastern Russian armed forces in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Ukrainian armed forces have suffered over 5,100 military casualties, the Russian Defense Ministry announced today.

"During the week, in this direction [as a result of actions by the central grouping of Russian forces] Kiev lost more than 2,405 service people, three tanks, including US-made Abrams, 20 armored combat vehicles, including four US-made Bradley, 27 vehicles, 33 field artillery guns, including 14 of Western manufacture," the ministry revealed.

The ministry added that the units of the central grouping of Russian forces enhanced the front line and liberated the towns of Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka, and Berdychi in the DPR as an outcome of successful operations.

In the areas of Leninske, Umanske, Niu-York, Novokalinove, Ocheretyne, and Netailove, these forces also defeated formations of 14 Ukrainian brigades and rebuffed 66 enemy counterattacks, the ministry revealed.

During the week, Kiev lost up to 745 troops as units of Russia's eastern grouping enhanced their tactical position.

Over the past week, Kiev lost more than 2,000 soldiers as Russian troops of southern groups proceeded to advance deep into Ukraine's defenses defeating 14 Ukrainian brigades and rebuffing four counterattacks, the ministry added.

Previously on Ukraine's losses in Donetsk

The Ukrainian armed forces suffered substantial casualties in 24 hours near the settlements of Krasnohorivka and Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the Russian Defense Ministry said on April 29.

Up to 395 military personnel were among the casualties, Moscow announced as the grinding battles continued to unfold.

According to the ministry, the southern grouping of the Russian armed forces has made advancements in their positions along the frontline, consolidating their strategic foothold in the region.

The statement outlined the extensive losses incurred by the Ukrainian forces, which included three tanks, four armored combat vehicles, two cars, a US-made M198 howitzer, a D-30 gun, and the Bukovel-AD electronic warfare station.

Moreover, the central grouping of Russian forces successfully repelled 10 counterattacks launched by Ukrainian troops near DPR settlements, resulting in an estimated loss of up to 370 soldiers for Kiev. Additionally, this grouping has asserted control over the Semenivka settlement.

On the western front, the Russian forces thwarted three attacks by Ukrainian troops near several settlements of the Lugansk People's Republic, further bolstering their standing on said front.

In the eastern sector, the Russian grouping effectively repelled two counterattacks by Ukrainian forces in the DPR. The statement indicated that Kiev suffered up to 125 military casualties during these engagements.
