Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, addressed the survivors of the Pager Massacre on its first anniversary, a terrorist attack committed by the Israeli occupation on September 17, 2024.
"You are the ones with true vision, the source of our hope, and your devotion to God is what gives life its eternal meaning. You are the light that guides our way forward, and your resilience is the very heartbeat of our resistance," Sheikh Qassem stated in his message to the individuals injured from the attack.
"What can I even say to you? For you are now the teachers, the mentors, and the guides, because you have given so much, and you continue to give," he added.
Embodiment of recovery, rising, and perseverance
Recovery
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah noted three values exemplified in the victims of the attack and their lives, the first being recovery, as they are healing from their wounds and, more importantly, rising above them. He described this as a divine test, which the pager victims have successfully passed.
Rising against all odds
The second value Sheikh Qassem spoke about was rising [after falling], noting that the wounded are rising armed with hope for the future and a clear path ahead, emphasizing that he has personally seen the optimistic and unyielding attitude of the Pager Attack victims.
"You are guided by an insight far greater than mere sight, because true insight is the inner light that shapes your reality, while sight only perceives the external world. May God bless you with this profound clarity of vision," he addressed them, saying.
Perseverence
Thirdly, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah pointed to the victims' perseverance, stating that "Israel" wanted to sideline them from the battle; however, they "engaged in it with greater strength and greater resolve."
“Some of you aim to finish your university education, others hope to start a workshop, pursue social work, enhance their cultural knowledge, or enter the media field. With the support of your peers, you are accomplishing extraordinary achievements,” he added.
He went on to strongly encourage them to persevere, telling every wounded man and woman not to consider their actions small, but to see them as immensely significant because their value, earned through their wounds, is far greater than any similar act performed without such sacrifice, as their actions are now infused with spirit, light, generosity, struggle, and a powerful drive to push forward.
"The value of what you are doing despite your wounds is immense, and here you are, treading the path of the Master of Nation's Martyrs and the leaders," he assertively told them.
Sheikh Qassem concluded his message, saying, "God bless you, the wounded of the Pager and Walkie-talkie attacks, and every injured person who has sacrificed on this noble path. Victory belongs to you. May peace, mercy, and God's blessings be with you all."
