Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad al-Maliki denounced the West for applying double standards by sanctioning Russia for the war in Ukraine, while completely ignoring "Israel's" occupation of Palestine and its ongoing aggression against Palestinians, Sputnik reported.

"The Europeans and the Americans, they imposed sanctions against Russia for the events that took place in Crimea, while they refrained from taking any actions against 'Israel', which has been occupying the Palestinian territory for the last 55 years. And we have been asking the international community to impose sanctions and punitive measures against 'Israel' for their occupation of our land. So obviously, this really reflects double standards which we do not really accept," al-Maliki said as quoted by Sputnik.

The Palestinian senior diplomat added that the West had expressed sympathy for the death of numerous Israeli settlers in the Al-Quds operation while ignoring the brutal Israeli raid on the Jenin refugee camp, which killed 10 Palestinians and injured at least 20.

"We see the double language when it comes to attacks committed by Israelis against us, vis-a-vis incidents when Palestinian individuals attack some Israelis. They are using the same descriptions when describing us, the Palestinians, and the Israelis use. While when it comes to attacks by 'Israel', they only talk about the need for de-escalation, but they never directly condemn 'Israel'," he added.

On January 26, Israeli occupation forces raided the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, leaving residents and popular Resistance groups with no choice but to defend themselves and confront the occupation forces.

The number of martyrs killed in the raid was 10, including 61-year-old elderly Palestinian woman Majeda Obeid. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that there were several injuries as a result of live fire from the Israeli occupation forces, adding that there were dozens of suffocations as a result of the IOF raiding the Jenin Governmental Hospital.

At the time, the IOF prevented ambulance crews from accessing the Jenin Camp, opening fire directly on the emergency vehicles, the Health Ministry said. Meanwhile, photos and videos taken in the camp showed the level of destruction and havoc that the IOF caused all over the refugee camp.
