Palestinian Foreign Affairs Ministry calls for international action to stop settlements
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the settlers' control of Al-Farisiyya water spring site in Jordan Valley.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for international measures and actions to halt settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories and the occupied Syrian Golan.
In a statement, the Ministry condemned the settlers' control of Al-Farisiyya spring water site in Jordan Valley and the initiation of settlement projects there.
The Foreign Ministry also condemned Bennett's plan to expand settlements outposts in the occupied Syrian Golan and build two new illegal settlements.
In its statement, the Ministry held the Israeli government fully responsible for the crime of settlements and "their repercussions on achieving last peace based on the two-state solution."
On the other hand, the ministry welcomed the US giving "Israel" a "yellow card" over plans of advancement in building thousands of new settlement units and the international stances that reject the expansion of settlements.
However, the statement stressed that the current stances are insufficient and must be translated into international measures and actions that would actually force the occupation forces to stop settlements and theft of Palestinian land.
Occupation shoots youth in Beita
Concurrently, the Israeli occupation forces shot a Palestinian youth in confrontations that erupted Saturday evening near the entrance of Beita, south of Nablus, during "night confusion" activities.
Activists had announced shifting the "night confusion" activities from Mount Sbeih to Beita's entrance in response to the martyrdom of Jamil Abu Ayyash who passed away just hours after being shot in the head by Israeli occupation forces who were brutally suppressing a march against settlements in Beita.
Last night, members of the resistance opened fire on the illegal "Evyatar" settlement outpost built on the top of Mount Sbeih in Beita, in the northern occupied West Bank.
Following the shooting, Israeli occupation forces were mobilized in the vicinity of the outpost.
Daily confrontations are ongoing in the town of Beita since last June, in protest of the establishment of the new "Evyatar" settlement.
The Palestinian youths have been developing new forms of resistance held on a weekly basis, in addition to the "night confusion" activities.
