Palestinian people need Africa's support more than ever: Algeria
The international seminar on the African dimension of the Algerian Revolution emphasizes the necessity of African unity in supporting the Palestinian people.
Algeria, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is committed to collective African efforts to prevent and resolve conflicts on the continent to achieve economic development, embodying the principle of African solutions to African problems, affirmed Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf.
Attaf stressed that "the Palestinian people are in dire need, now more than ever, of the support of the African continent and free peoples."
In a speech read on his behalf by the Inspector General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelhamid-Ahmed Khodja, during the opening of the international seminar on the African dimension of the Algerian Revolution, Attaf highlighted Algeria's loyalty to its African roots, exemplified by its unwavering support for the just causes across the continent at all levels.
He added that "loyalty is a trait of Algeria, both its leadership and its people, especially toward those who stood by its glorious revolution and supported its eternal message."
The top diplomat pointed out that the glorious Algerian revolution's resonance would not have been were it not a humane revolution that embraced noble values and defended shared ideals, such as the right to life, rejection of racism, and the right of the peoples to self-determination.
The Minister pointed out that discussing the African dimension of the Algerian revolution, which represented "an epic struggle against colonialism and a defense of human dignity and freedom values," compels Algeria to stand in solidarity with the "resilient Palestinian people facing a brutal genocidal war by the Zionist settler occupation."
Attaf underlined that the Palestinian people now need the support of the African continent and all peoples who believe in the values of freedom, dignity, and justice more than ever, to regain their full legitimate rights and establish their independent and sovereign state with al-Quds as its capital.

Palestinian cause was firmly rooted in Nelson Mandela's heart
On his part, Zwelivelile Mandela, the grandson of the late South African leader Nelson Mandela, emphasized the importance of African unity in facing challenges on various levels.

He called on the free people of the world and Africa to support Palestine and Gaza, advocating for cutting ties with "Israel."
According to Mandela, the Palestinian cause was deeply rooted in the heart of his grandfather and was always present in the mind of the late South African president.
He urged African countries that have normalized relations with the Israeli occupation to remember their own colonial struggles and not support today's colonization and to continue raising their voices against imperialism worldwide.
The South African activist highlighted that what is happening in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian cities is a crime of genocide and ethnic cleansing, calling on the international community to pay attention to the Palestinian cause and support South Africa's efforts at the International Court of Justice.
He added that this call is not only directed at the international community but also all African countries because they know well that if they do not denounce the crimes of the Zionist occupier, they will be the next victims.
Mandela noted that before coming to Algeria, he was in Lausanne, Switzerland, to support his country's Olympic team, adding that he called there to expose the Israeli participation in this global sporting event and discuss the suffering of Palestinians.
He also stressed the need to expose Western propaganda and reveal the truth to the Western public.
In a message to Palestinians in Gaza and other parts of Palestine, Mandela emphasized the need to confront the crimes of the Israeli occupation, asserting that there is no path to freedom except through resistance.
