Algeria strongly condemned on Sunday the Israeli aggression on Yemen, calling on the international community to fully assume its responsibilities in holding the occupation entity accountable for its crimes.

"This aggression is part of the systematic and regular escalation strategy adopted by the Zionist entity to establish its absolute hegemony over the entire region, and to divert attention from its countless and indescribable crimes, particularly in Gaza and in occupied Palestine more broadly," Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

It added that "despite the tightening of the noose around the occupation by international judicial and criminal bodies, and despite the growing and increasingly severe condemnations from around the world, [the Israeli occupation] continues its provocations, mockery, and disregard for the international community and for what has been rightfully decided for the Palestinian people and their just cause."

Earlier today, the Sultanate of Oman also condemned the Israeli attack against the "brotherly Republic of Yemen."

In a statement released by its foreign minister, the Arab country said the Israeli aggression on Yemen signifies escalations in tension in the region.

It called on the international community to fulfill its peacekeeping responsibilities, regionally and globally, urging it to decisively mobilize to protect civilians and guarantee the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
