Palestinian freedom fighters attacked the Israeli occupation forces using IEDs and took up arms against them, with one of the explosive devices destroying an armored vehicle, which resulted in several confirmed casualties among the Israeli occupation forces, a field commander in the Al-Quds Brigades in the Jenin refugee camp told Al Mayadeen on Tuesday.

"The scale and intensity of the confrontations on the second day were fierce and direct, with the freedom fighters detonating new explosive devices, including powerful roadside bombs," the Palestinian commander said.

"Our forces opened fire and prevented the advancement of occupation soldiers, dealing damages to and causing casualties among the enemy forces," he added.

Moreover, the Palestinian military commander commented on Israeli reports regarding a partial IOF withdrawal from the vicinity of the Jenin refugee camp, saying the resistance does not take into consideration the news about the withdrawal. "We call on the resistance fighters to be cautious, not to disperse, and to follow the instructions of the leadership of the Jenin Brigade."

"The resistance groups are still engaged in the confrontation, and the alleged withdrawal by the enemy is a tactical maneuver aimed at redeployment," the commander added.

"The resistance fighters are capable of holding their positions in the Jenin governorate and the West Bank," the commander underlined.

The Jenin Brigade announced in a statement that its fighters "discovered an Israeli special force in the Jenin camp square and managed to thwart its mission," and that they "dealt with the special force swiftly and targeted it with intense gunfire and explosive devices."

The Brigade clarified that its fighters "attacked the occupation forces at Al-Asfour Roundabout with intense and concentrated gunfire and explosive devices," as they also engaged in fierce confrontations with the intruding forces on the Cinema axis in the camp.

They further confirmed that its sapper unit detonated five Tareq-1 explosive devices in IOF groupings in response to the occupation's attacks on civilian homes earlier on.

The sapper unit of the Jenin Brigade also targeted an occupation armored with a Tareq-1 improvised explosive device, which disabled the armored vehicle dealing casualties to its crew and setting it ablaze at the Abu Bakr road in Jenin.

Resistance fighters also confronted the infiltrating occupation forces on the Al-Jabriyat axis, where sappers managed to "detonate a Tamir explosive device in the occupation's vehicles, disabling them."

The sappers unit also detonated several explosive devices on the outskirts of the camp, dealing direct hits to IOF armored vehicles, as its fighters targeted an infantry force on the Al-Damaj axis, successfully thwarting the advancement of occupation forces.

The confrontations in the camp are escalating, with Israeli media reporting that there is an "intense exchange of gunfire and heavy explosions" in Jenin. The current battle was described as "the toughest since the start of the operation," Israeli media reported.

"Intense clashes are taking place near Jenin Hospital at close distances," Israeli Channel 12 military affairs correspondent Nir Dvori said, adding that "a recent incident near the hospital is still ongoing, with a group of wanted individuals holed up inside a building besieged by an army unit."

"There is an ongoing shootout, and we can hear the echoes of explosions. This event is still ongoing," Dvori said.

Social media accounts circulated videos showing an attempted Israeli incursion into the hospital, with reports of resistance fighters engaging Israeli forces to repel them.

"Israeli forces have intensified their targeting of medical facilities and hospitals in the city of Jenin," Palestinian Health Minister May Al-Kaila said.

This comes as the Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the city and camp of Jenin in the occupied West Bank for the second day in a row, while Palestinian Resistance fighters bravely confront Israeli occupation forces with barrages of bullets and detonating explosive devices.
