Heavy fighting broke out Wednesday between Palestinian Resistance groups and Israeli forces in the eastern part of Gaza City, specifically in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, in what was described as the most intense confrontations in recent days, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
The al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced that its fighters targeted three Israeli Merkava 4 tanks near al-Wafa Hospital in eastern al-Tuffah within the past 24 hours. The tanks were struck with Yassin-105 anti-armor RPGs, the group stated.
Islamic Jihad sniper hits Israeli soldier
Two days earlier, Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, claimed responsibility for sniping an Israeli soldier positioned on a hill in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood, also located in eastern Gaza City.
In a separate incident, the al-Qassam Brigades reported launching a rocket barrage at the Israeli settlement of Nir Yitzhak in response to what it described as "massacres" committed against Palestinian civilians.
Palestinian resistance groups continue to confront Israeli military incursions and operations across Gaza. Despite the prolonged siege and bombardments, the resistance maintains active engagement on the ground, signaling its resilience in the face of Israel’s military campaign.
