Palestinian Resistance shell occupation forces in, around Gaza Strip
Palestinian Resistance fighters deploy a new type of surface-to-air missiles to confront Israeli helicopters in Gaza.
The Palestinian Resistance announced a series of operations in line with the continued confrontation with invading Israeli occupation forces on Friday.
Multiple Resistance factions participated in defensive actions against occupation forces, including Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's (PIJ) al-Quds Brigades.
The latter announced that its fighters shot, in a rare incident, a NATO-designated SA-18 surface-to-air missile at an Israeli helicopter on Thursday. The SA-18 is the Russian Igla MANPADS and is much more effective than the more abundant SA-7 surface-to-air missile found in the Gaza Strip. The missile was launched in eastern Rafah, the southernmost city of the Gaza Strip, as the helicopter participated in a rescue mission of Israeli occupation forces.

Al-Quds Brigades mortar units also targeted Israeli occupation forces in the Netsarim Axis, which Israeli forces currently occupy and utilize as an on-the-field command and control post. Mortar units also fired large-caliber shells at Israeli occupation forces advancing into Rafah.
Al-Quds Brigades also launched a salvo of rockets toward Kibbutz Be'eri to the east of Gaza City in the north.
Moreover, al-Mujahideen Brigades shelled the Kissufim military site to the east of the central Gaza Strip.
Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades also fired large-caliber mortar shells at Israeli occupation forces in Juhr al-Dik to the east of the central Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, the Israeli occupation intensified its bombing of the Gaza Strip.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said on Friday that an Israeli airstrike on refugee tents in the Mawasi area of Rafah resulted in the deaths of 22 people and left 50 others injured.
"Palestine Red Crescent: Our teams have so far dealt with 18 martyrs and 35 injuries due to the occupation’s targeting of displaced people’s tents in Mawasi Rafah, west of the governorate," the PRCS said on X.
