Palestinians protest to save hunger-striker Hisham Abu Hawash
Abu Hawash is still fighting for his freedom despite the serious deterioration of his health.
Dozens of Palestinians staged a protest in downtown Ramallah to demand the release of Palestinian prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash who fell into an intermittent coma as his health condition deteriorates.
Abu Hawash, from Dura, occupied Al-Khalil, has been on hunger strike for 139 days in protest of his administrative detention which allows the indefinite imprisonment of Palestinians without trial or charge.
Painful moments..💔

Another protest was also organized in front of the "Assaf Harofeh" hospital, where Abu Hawash is being held.
Just spoke to a friend who’s at the hospital w/Hisham Abu Hawash’s family. She said that Hisham—on strike since early August—is hardly responsive. It was a somber & sobering phone call, as he might lose his life. When I asked how his family want us to help, she said, “protest.”

On the verge of death
Palestinian prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash faces the threat of sudden death, Palestinian Prisoners Club lawyer Jawad Boulos said Saturday.
The PPC relayed Boulos' concerns regarding Abu Hawash as the latter faces the threat of sudden death, and is in a very critical condition, based on the latest medical report issued by doctors in humanitarian organizations
"The doctors attached basic and keynotes in the report, which says the medical staff in the hospital refused to update them on Hisham's health condition. The doctors who visited were unable to comprehend the fact that doctors in previous hospitals agreed to transfer him back to prison, despite the reports highlighting how serious his health condition was," Boulos said.
The lawyer also underscored that the doctors were shocked and astonished, nodding to the international and local medical axioms: detainees who surpass their 55th day of hunger strike are practically facing sudden death and must remain in the hospital.
The PPC had once again appealed to all authorities at all levels to intervene decisively to save the life of prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash before it's too late. It stressed that the battle that Abu Hawash is waging is "a battle for every Palestinian" who has faced and is facing administrative detention."
Instructions to respond in case of Abu Hawash’s martyrdom
Sources told Al Mayadeen that instructions have been given to increase the readiness to respond in the event of the martyrdom of Palestinian prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash who fell into a coma.
The same sources added that "Al-Quds Brigades raised the state of alert and announced general mobilization among its fighters in Gaza and the occupied West Bank”, emphasizing that "'Israel' bears full responsibility."
"Mediators have expressed their dissatisfaction with 'Israel's' intransigence," sources reported.
Al Mayadeen sources confirmed that “Islamic Jihad leadership exhausted all the legal means of political persuasion available to save the life of Abu Hawash."
