Palestinians won't accept US path the undermines their rights: Hamas
The Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas has released a statement underlining its stance on president-elect Donald Trump's future administration.
The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, urged US President-elect Donald Trump to end the bias displayed by previous American administrations toward the Israeli regime, in a statement released on Wednesday.
The group called for genuine efforts to halt the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Lebanon, emphasizing the need for a shift in US foreign policy to address the suffering in the region and live up to the expectations of American citizens calling for a ceasefire.
"Our position toward the new US administration depends on its stance and [actions] toward the Palestinian people and their just cause," the Palestinian Resistance movement stated.
Hamas emphasized that it "will not accept any path that undermines the freedom of the Palestinian people, their right to self-determination, and the establishment of their independent state with al-Quds as its capital."
It stressed that the Trump administration "must realize that our people are determined to confront the occupation and will not accept any path that infringes upon their legitimate rights."
Hamas pointed out that all successive US administrations since the occupation of Palestine have taken negative positions on the Palestinian cause and that the previous US administration aligned with the Israeli regime's genocidal war, providing the government with both political and military cover.

Trump secures decisive victory over Harris, Democrats
In the 2024 US presidential election, former US President Donald Trump secured a decisive victory, capturing 277 electoral votes to defeat his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, who garnered 224 votes. Four other states continue to count their votes, including Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Alaska, however, Trump has already secured the necessary electoral votes, declaring an early victory.
The performance of current US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, on both domestic and foreign policy issues, has significantly impacted their standing with voters, translating into a decline in support for the Democratic Party at the polls on Tuesday in part due to dissatisfaction with the Biden-Harris administration's handling of key foreign policy issues, notably the ongoing war on Gaza and Lebanon.
Throughout their tenure, President Biden and Vice President Harris faced growing criticism from various segments of the American public, particularly progressive and Arab-American voters, for their lack of action in ending Israeli military aggression and their continued support for the Israeli regime.
