Pan-Arab campaign announces launch of convoy to break Syria blockade
Members of the committee have agreed to coordinate with one another in order to carry out the task successfully.
A pan-Arab campaign, named the Arab and International Campaign to Break Siege on Syria, announced on Friday plans to launch a popular convoy to confront the Western-led blockade on Syria, noting that intensive preparations are underway to participate in the Arab Youth Forum in Solidarity with Syria scheduled next March, SANA reported on Saturday.
The campaign, headed by Magdi al-Masrawi, former secretary-general of the Arab National Congress, involves the launch of a popular convoy "from the West of the Arab world to its east under the title 'The Arab Unity Convoy to Break the Embargo Imposed on Syria' similar to the 'Convoy of Arab Unity, Maryam' to break the siege on Iraq, which started at the beginning of the current century from London towards Morocco, then towards Iraq."
The statement adds that members of the committee have agreed to coordinate with one another in order to carry out the task succesfully.
