Pezeshkian's success is that of all of us: Sayyed Khamenei
Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian pledges to do everything possible to resolve the issues facing the Iranian people.
The success of the new president and the administration is the success of all the Iranian people, stressed Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Sunday.
Addressing Iranian lawmakers, Sayyed Khamenei pointed out that "the parliament is not only a questioning body but also an answering body," calling parliament members to cooperate fully with the incoming government.
"The success of the president and the new government is the success of all of us. Everyone should help the president to fulfill his duties towards the country," he indicated during a meeting with members of the Majlis [the Iranian Parliament] in Tehran.
The Iranian leader also called for unity among parliament and administration members in decision-making, stating, "A united voice should be heard from the country regarding important issues" in order to thwart attempts to sow discord in Iran.
Touching on the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip, Sayyed Khamenei affirmed that Gaza remains the foremost case in the Islamic world and urged everyone "not to remain silent about it."
He stressed that the importance of the Gaza issue today "is the same as it was 10 months ago at the beginning of the war, and even more," asserting that "the strength of the Resistance grows more evident day by day."
Sayyed Khamenei said that the Israeli occupation directs its aggression toward civilians in Gaza "because it has failed to subdue the Resistance," highlighting that the United States supports and backs the occupation in its aggression.
On his part, Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian pledged to do everything possible to resolve the issues facing the Iranian people through "empathy, common thinking, and coordination" among different governmental bodies, urging lawmakers to cooperate with his administration in this regard.
The president-elect stressed the importance of unity and setting aside differences to effectively address the country’s problems.
Pezeshkian said the Iranian people chose their president with "integrity and democracy", despite the conspiracies against Iran aimed at preventing participation in the elections.
He pointed out that the burden of responsibility he bears "has become heavier" since assuming the presidency, stressing that the president must not exploit this position for personal gain or the interests of his associates.
