Police capture Brooklyn Shooting suspect
NYPD officials said officers arrested the alleged shooter in East Village, Manhattan.
The suspected gunman responsible for the shooting on the Brooklyn subway train on rush hour Tuesday morning was taken into custody, according to the police.
The New York Police Department said that officers on patrol in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood took the alleged shooter, Frank James, into custody.
James had allegedly shot 10 people. The NYPD joined forces with federal and state law-enforcement agencies to track him down, with hundreds of police officers working overnight to find the suspect in New York City, and in other areas where he had addresses.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Wednesday morning that James could face terror charges, saying that the shooter was motivated by the desire to sow terror.
“We will know once he’s apprehended, and we continue to do an investigation to determine how this is going to be classified, but there was a clear desire to create terror,” Adams said in the interview.
“When you bring a smoke bomb, when you bring an automatic weapon, wear a gas mask, in a very methodical way, injure and attempt to harm innocent New Yorkers, that is terror,” he further added.
Earlier this morning, the NYPD released two photos of James, asking people to provide information.
