A new poll co-conducted by the Associated Press and the National Opinion Research Center based at the University of Chicago shows that Americans generally disfavor a Trump comeback to the White House.

According to the findings released by AP earlier this week:

  • 70% of respondents do not want Trump to run for president in 2024.
  • 44% of Republican respondents do not want Trump to run for president in 2024.
  • 93% of Democrat respondents do not want Trump to run for president in 2024.
  • 63% of independent respondents do not want Trump to run for president in 2024.

In addition to the partisanship variable, the poll studied the influence of the level of education on Trump's popularity:

  • 80% of respondents with a college degree do not want Trump to run for president in 2024.
  • 65% of respondents without a college do not want Trump to run for president in 2024.
