According to a new poll by Gallup, 26% of Americans now sympathize with the Palestinian cause.

The shift represents an all-time high for Palestinian support and signifies that long-held and unquestionable support for "Israel" in the US is no longer the case.

Such a major decrease in support for Israelis and an increase in favor for Palestinians has been observed in a 2022 poll conducted from February 1 to 17.

According to the research, 13% of Republicans connect with Palestinians, while 25% of independents sympathize with Palestinians, and most interestingly are Democrats, whom 40% of support Palestinians.

In addition, 27% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the Palestinian Authority. This exceeds the 22% of the same opinion held since 2013 and indicates an upward trend in the last decade of a favorable Palestinian view.

In August, a poll conducted by Chicago Council showed a split between Americans on the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

On the issue of restricting US military aid to "Israel" to prohibit its use in military operations against Palestinians, 50% were in favor. 62% of Democrats favored these restrictions, while Republicans are nearly the mirror opposite, with six in 10 opposing them (61%, 32% favor).

On Sunday, the International Human Rights Clinic at Harvard Law School has, in a recent report to the United Nations, joined the international community by recognizing that the Israeli occupation regime is one of apartheid.

"Israel's actions in the occupied West Bank are in breach of the prohibition of apartheid and amount to the crime of apartheid under international law," the report concluded on February 28, 2022, said.

Through this move, Harvard has joined other academia, Palestinians, international human rights groups, civil rights advocates, and a fair share of the international community in condemning the Israeli occupation for its gruesome crimes against Palestinians that range from murder and arbitrary imprisonment to forced displacement and much more.
