Popular Resistance Committees value recent Lebanese decree
The Director of the media Office of the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees welcomes the Lebanese Labor Minister's decree regarding Palestinian refugees.
The Director of the media office of the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees Muhammad al-Buraim (Abu Mujahid), valued Lebanese Labor Minister Mustafa Bayram's ministerial decree allowing Palestinian refugees to practice professions previously exclusive to Lebanese nationals.
Al-Buraim considered that the decision is the beginning of the recognition of the civil and human rights of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon on the basis of adherence to the right of return and rejection of resettlement.
"The decision, which is appreciated by our people, must be developed to achieve equality to all our people in Lebanon," al-Buraim added.
The director expressed full confidence in the Lebanese leadership's understanding of the needs of Palestinian refugee people in Lebanon.
He also called for including Palestinian refugees in all economic plans and budgets that will be approved in Lebanon, in order to enable them to live in dignity until their return to the land from which they were displaced.
For its part, the Palestinian factions in Lebanon welcomed the decision, saying they appreciated the decision of the Lebanese Minister of Labor, as it expanded the margin of employment opportunity for the Palestinian worker.
In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Lebanese Labor Minister Mustafa Bayram said Thursday that the changes in the economic situation "required us to issue decrees protecting local labor."
"A minister does not amend law or decree, and what I did was within my authority and is the right of the labor minister," Bayram added.
