Prisoner Abu Hawash on Hunger Strike for the 71st Day
Six Palestinian prisoners continue their hunger strike in protest of their administrative detention by the Israeli occupation.
The Israeli occupation intelligence issued an administrative detention order till April 2022 against prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who has been on hunger strike for 71 days.
Attorney Jawad Boulos explained that this decision shows the occupation's desire to take revenge on Abu Hawash and his comrades who are on hunger strike, despite their serious health condition.
Boulos pointed out that, to date, there are no serious proposals regarding the prisoners' cases, and that the issuance of more administrative detention orders against them is a no-answer to all the current demands for their release, especially those of international human rights organizations, which expressed their concern over their fate.
Abu Hawash, 39, from Dura, al-Khalil, has been in the Ramle Clinic prison and has been detained since October 2020. He is already a former prisoner who spent a total of 8 years in occupation prisons.
The prisoner has been previously issued two administrative detention orders for a period of 6 months and is currently facing serious health conditions.
Abu Hawash is currently suffering from vision problems, constant vomiting, physical weakness, slow speech and movement, and severe aches all over his body.
Six prisoners are still on hunger strike in protest of their administrative detention:
-Kayed al-Fasfous (104 days)
-Miqdad al-Qawasmi (97 days)
-Alaa al-Araj (80 days)
-Hisham Abu-Hawash (71 days)
-Shadi Abu-Aker (63 days)
-Ayad Hraimi (34 days)
In solidarity with the 6 prisoners, Ratib Hraibat has been on a hunger strike for 17 days in Megiddo Prison.
