Prisoner Adnan's health condition 'very poor': Prisoners office
The Palestinian Prisoners Information Office reports on the deterioration of the health condition of prisoner Khader Adnan.
The health condition of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leader, prisoner Khader Adnan, suddenly deteriorated in light of his continued hunger strike to protest his arbitrary detention, the Palestinian Prisoners Information Office reported on Thursday.
The Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation announced that the session of the Court of Appeal in the Israeli "Ofer" Court, for the prisoner Sheikh Khader Adnan, had ended without issuing a decision on the appeal submitted by his defense lawyer. The decision is expected to be issued within the next week, despite the deterioration of Adnan's health condition.
"Sheikh Khader Adnan denies the fabricated charges against him and affirms that his demand is freedom," the Foundation indicated.
Prisoner Adnan continues his open hunger strike for the 54th day in a row in rejection of his arbitrary detention, according to the reporter of the Prisoners Information Office.
The office added that prisoner Adnan suffers from very poor health conditions, as he is still vomiting blood and suffering from severe joint pain, blurred vision, and intermittent fainting spells, which necessitated the occupation prison administration to transfer him yesterday to the hospital.
On Wednesday, the Foundation held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the life of the prisoner due to its procrastination in responding to his just demands for an end to his arbitrary detention.
It also appealed to all institutions working in the field of human rights, led by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations Human Rights Council, to intensify their efforts to save Adnan's life and to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to release him before it is too late.
On Sunday, the Palestinian Prisoners Club held the Israeli occupation prison administration fully responsible for the life of Adnan.
In a statement, the Prisoners Club indicated that Adnan began to vomit blood, is suffering from severe pain all over his body, and is having difficulty speaking and concentrating.
A few days ago, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz revealed that there are 971 administrative prisoners without trial in Israeli occupation prisons -- the largest number of prisoners under this category during the past 20 years.
It is worth noting that Adnan is considered the leader of the Battle of the Empty Stomachs against the policy of administrative detention in occupation prisons. The occupation released him on November 13, 2018, and on October 29, 2018, he stopped his hunger strike after 58 days, and his family considered this a "third victory for him."
Adnan launched a fourth hunger strike after his 2021 arrest; He was liberated 25 days into his hunger strike, winning his fourth victory against the occupation.
