Sudden deterioration in prisoner Khader Adnan's health: Muhjat Al-Quds
The Muhjat Al-Quds foundation says prisoner Khader Adnan refused to undergo medical examinations or receive treatment in the "Kaplan" hospital.
Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation on Wednesday confirmed a sudden deterioration in the health of PIJ leader prisoner Sheikh Khader Adnan, which necessitated the occupation prison administration to transfer him yesterday to "Kaplan" hospital.
According to the Foundation, Adnan -- who continues his open hunger strike for the 53rd day in a row in rejection of his arbitrary detention -- refused to undergo examinations or receive treatment in the hospital and was sent back to the "Ramla Prison" clinic.
Adnan sends message amid hunger strike
This comes after Adnan said, in a message received by Muhjat Al-Quds, that his health condition is constantly deteriorating and that his hunger strike entered a critical stage:
"My health condition is constantly deteriorating, and since yesterday, my hunger strike has entered a critical stage; I began vomiting stomach acid, and my dizziness and imbalance increased significantly. I am unable to move without a wheelchair, and when I stand sometimes, I feel very dizzy and fear collapsing to the ground. I feel uncomfortable drinking water and suffer from a lack of sleep, especially at night. I suffer from back pain, and my weight has decreased significantly."
The prisoner noted that a doctor in the hospital warned him that there is a possibility that he might face a stroke at any time and the risk of death at any moment.
On its part, the Foundation held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the life of the prisoner due to its procrastination in responding to his just demands for an end to his arbitrary detention.
It also appealed to all institutions working in the field of human rights, led by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations Human Rights Council, to intensify their efforts to save Adnan's life and to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to release him before it is too late.
Adnan's health condition deteriorating rapidly: Prisoners Club
On Sunday, the Palestinian Prisoners Club held the Israeli occupation prison administration fully responsible for the life of Adnan.
In a statement, the Prisoners Club indicated that Adnan began to vomit blood, is suffering from severe pain all over his body, and is having difficulty speaking and concentrating.
Despite his difficult health condition, which is deteriorating with the passage of time, the prison administration has not spared Adnan from abuse since his arbitrary arrest on February 5, the Club pointed out.
For more than 50 days, the Israeli occupation's prison administration has refused to provide Adnan with clothes, as he is still wearing the same clothes he had on when he was arrested, the statement highlighted, adding that the prisoner has not showered since the day of his arbitrary arrest.
It is noteworthy that the prisoner Adnan was arrested 12 times, and he spent a total of about eight years in occupation detention centers, most of which were under administrative detention. During these years, he went through five previous strikes, including four strikes refusing his arbitrary administrative detention.
Last week, the Palestinian Ministry of Detainees and Ex-Detainees held the occupation fully accountable for the life of Sheikh Khader Adnan, calling for intensifying the support campaign in solidarity with him, in light of the occupation's procrastination to respond to his demands.
A few days ago, Adnan's wife told Al Mayadeen Net that her husband refused to undergo medical examinations. The detainee's lawyer, who visited him recently, described his health condition as "very poor".
His wife added that her husband "is freezing in a cramped insect-infected cell, with a closed window, and suffering from constant harassments and pressure aimed to stop his strike and to undergo medical examinations."
