Prisoner Al-Fasfous Seizes Freedom, Suspends Hungerstrike

Palestinian Prisoner Kayed al-Fasfous suspends his 131-day-old hunger strike in protest of his administrative detention.

Palestinian Prisoner Kayed al-Fasfous suspended Monday his hunger strike, which he started 131 days ago in protest of his administrative detention.

Al-Fasfous seized his freedom by court order. The said order stipulates that he would be freed on December 14.

As prisoner Kayed al-Fasfous suspended his hunger strike and will seize his freedom to the fullest in mere weeks, three prisoners continue their hunger strike in protest of their administrative detention.

The prisoners who are still hunger-striking are Hisham Abu Hawash (97 days), Ayyad Hraimi (61 days), and Louay al-Ashkar (44 days).

Palestinian Mujahideen Movement congratulated Kayed Al-Fasfous for his victory "after a heroic battle he fought with his empty stomach against the Zionist jailer," stressing that "his victory is a new victory for the prisoners seeking freedom, in which he demonstrated an outstanding heroism in front of this usurping jailer."

The media office of Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) said that the prisoner "wrote with his living flesh and empty stomach the most beautiful images of glory, pride, dignity, and unyielding determination."

Palestinian Freedom Movement affirmed that "this victory is a message to the occupation and its supporters and to all the conspirators that our people will achieve their goals," adding that "our prisoners are at the heart of the battle to break the jailer's locks and drop the sword that hangs on their neck, which is administrative detention." 

As for the official in charge of the prisoners’ file in the Islamic Jihad Movement, Jamil Alyan, he said that Kayed Al-Fasfous "asserted that victory is the slogan of the Palestinian in all the points of confrontation" adding that, "that the Palestinian will is the most certain guarantee for the defeat of Zionist evil."

The Palestinian Prisoners Club announced, on the 18th of November, that the prisoner Alaa Al-Araj suspended his hunger strike after his administrative detention was suspended by the Israeli occupation.

Also on the 11th of November, the Prisoners' Information Office, announced that the prisoner, Miqdad al-Qawasmi, won a decisive victory, and ended his hunger strike, which lasted for 113 days.
