A student event organized by the pro-"Israel" group Students Supporting Israel (SSI) at Toronto Metropolitan University was disrupted on Tuesday when pro-Palestine protesters opposed the appearance of former Israeli occupation forces (IOF) soldiers.
The event, part of a wider tour by Israeli veterans, was originally scheduled to take place on campus but was relocated to a private venue after the University of Toronto reportedly denied the group’s request for the third time. According to Israeli Channel 14, the speakers were reserve IOF soldiers invited to lecture as part of the tour.
Footage shared by SSI shows a tense standoff between members and demonstrators outside the off-campus venue. Protesters, some masked, were seen chanting against the presence of "war criminals" in the city.
In response, SSI members blocked the venue doors with furniture, and confrontations escalated when a glass door was smashed.

One injury was reported, with video showing a forearm wound and audible distress. Toronto police confirmed they responded to the incident, made multiple arrests, and deployed additional officers in the area.
The Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at the university later claimed responsibility for the disruption, stating "Our administrations refuse to take action. War criminals will never be welcome in our communities."
