Pro-Palestine MPs win against Labour Party candidates in UK elections
Hussain and Adam's victories are due to their steadfast opposition to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the Labour Party's stance on "Israel".
Shockat Adam and Adnan Hussain, two British pro-Palestine MPs, defeated Labour Party candidates in the UK general elections on Thursday, indicating that the party's position on the Gaza crisis has produced a division among supporters.
Adam defeated Labour's Shadow Cabinet Minister Jon Ashworth in the Leicester South constituency in the East Midlands, while Hussain defeated Labour's Kate Hollern in the formerly industrial town of Blackburn in the northwest.
Adam's winning declaration was "this is for Gaza" as he secured 14,739 votes, 979 more than Ashworth, who only garnered 13,760. Hussain received 10,518 votes in Blackburn, narrowly defeating Hollern's 10,386 votes.
Hussain's and Adam's victories are ascribed to their steadfast opposition to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the Labour Party's stance on "Israel".

A slithering spy
A group of former Labour councilors who defected from the party over its Gaza policy supported Hussain, a local lawyer after he embraced a pro-Gaza stance. The group rose to become the second-largest party in the borough during the early May municipal elections.
"Gaza is important and it's the reason why I stood. But poverty is a massive issue too and so is healthcare," he said.
This comes after UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed on Friday that he is stepping down as prime minister of the United Kingdom after conceding defeat to the Labour Party in the parliamentary election - paving the way to Keir Starmer.
As millions of Britons prepared to vote on Thursday to select a new UK government, an exclusive report on Tuesday by the Electronic Intifada website stated that an Israeli spy is still employed by the Labour Party.
Assaf Kaplan, a former Israeli spy, is currently employed by Labour, led by Starmer.
Despite controversies concerning his experience in "Israel's" lethal cyberwarfare division Unit 8200, which is notorious for its massive monitoring activities against Palestinians, Kaplan was first made public by the news outlet in 2021.
Kaplan had served as an intelligence analyst in Unit 8200 for more than four and a half years, according to the study, even though the cap for the Israeli military conscription is three years.
Unit 8200 is a highly skilled military unit in "Israel", renowned for its stringent admissions procedures. The infamous team serves as the Israeli army's "main information gathering unit."
