Protesters call out Netanyahu's son for staying in Miami during war
Protesters in Miami voiced anger over Yair Netanyahu's prolonged absence from "Israel" amid the war on Gaza, per the Times of Israel.
Protesters are calling out Yair Netanyahu for staying in Miami rather than returning to "Israel". Amid blowing horns and loud chants, they expressed their anger that the outspoken son of the prime minister remains abroad, especially as the war on Gaza has been ongoing for nearly half a year.
Netanyahu's son left the occupied land following extensive protests on March 26, 2023, during which hundreds of thousands rallied across the country. The protests were fueled by anger over his father's decision to remove Security Minister Yoav Gallant, who had urged the government to halt its proposed judicial overhaul, citing security concerns.
Israeli Channel 12 reported last month that Yair Netanyahu is enjoying a security detail in Miami, seemingly without entitlement to such protection.
Securing Yair Netanyahu's stay in an extravagant apartment complex in Miami, Florida, along with a chauffeur and a pair of bodyguards from the 'Shin Bet's' elite Unit 730, reportedly costs "Israel" an estimated NIS 200,000 ($55,000) per month. According to the report, this totals NIS 2.5 million ($680,000) to date.
In February, the UK's Daily Mail published a series of photos in a report exposing Yair enjoying the high life in a luxurious Miami apartment, dodging the IOF draft.
