A number of residents from Raqqa and Deir Ezzor held a protest in Damascus, condemning what they called “violations” by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Jazira region against local tribes while urging action to address the continuing tensions and unresolved grievances.
The protesters held signs demanding the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from both provinces and called for a military intervention to compel the group to relinquish control over the areas it holds in Deir Ezzor and Raqqa, while expressing frustration over the continued presence and dominance of SDF forces in their regions.
In the town of Sbeikhan in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, a demonstration was held under the slogan “The people want to liberate al-Jazira,” demanding the withdrawal of the SDF from the area and denouncing what participants described as “violations” committed against members of Arab tribes while voicing anger over the group’s continued control and actions in the region.
In the town of Suluk, which falls under the authority of the Autonomous Administration and is located in the northern countryside of Raqqa province, dozens of residents took to the streets demanding the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from Raqqa and the wider Jazira region while echoing similar calls for an end to the group’s presence and influence in their areas.
The statement issued by the demonstrators stressed the need to implement the March 10 agreement signed between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Autonomous Administration, emphasizing the importance of partnership with the Kurds as an integral Syrian component while calling for a clear separation between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Kurdish community.
