Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that during his trip to the Crimean bridge, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed to builders repairing its infrastructure that it is vital for Crimea to be connected by land with the rest of the country as Kiev threats against the bridge increase.

"Putin had a brief conversation with employees working on the bridge. Amid continued threats, officially voiced by Kiev, of possible new attacks against the Crimean bridge and related infrastructure, Putin stressed the importance of the land road connecting Crimea with the rest of Russia" Peskov said.

On October 8, the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee reported that a truck exploded on the Crimean Bridge, where a truck was blown up on the motorway section of the Crimean Bridge from the Taman Peninsula.

The attack caused seven fuel tanks of a train traveling to the Crimean peninsula to go up in flames. Two motorway sections of the bridge have partially collapsed.

As a result of the attack, three civilians were killed.

Russia officially accused Ukranian special forces and military intelligence unit of carrying out the attack,

Russia’s State Duma stated, "The terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge is no longer just a challenge, but a declaration of war without rules,” following a tweet posted by the political advisor to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mykhailo Podolyak, on the day of the incident, calling the blasting of the Crimea Bridge as just "the beginning".
