Raisi: Student protests unveil the true nature of Western regimes
The Iranian President hails demonstrations of students and academics in the West, amid a severe crackdown.
President Ebrahim Raisi described the ongoing pro-Palestine protests in universities across Western countries as a major event, saying that the crackdowns against demonstrators have revealed the true face of Western civilization.
The president pointed to the multifaceted effects that the protests in the West will have, underlining the participation of university students and academics in pro-Palestine demonstrations.
On the use of violence and strict measures imposed by US authorities when it comes to the protests, Raisi said that the events mark "another chapter of a scandal by those claiming to defend free speech."
The top Iranian official said that the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza has unveiled the true face of Western civilization to others across the world.
Raisi hailed the protests saying that the crackdown will not stop protests against cruelty and war crimes.

Hundreds of students and faculty staff members of American universities are still protesting the Israeli genocide in Gaza despite various attempts from administrators and police officers to stop them through disciplinary measures and violent arrests.
According to Al Mayadeen's correspondent, protestors have demanded the overturn of penalties implemented on students who were temporarily expelled from George Washington University as the situation continues to escalate. George Washington University's administration informed the protesters that their behavior was considered a violation of its policies, threatening action against them.
A tally published by The Washington Post, reveals that over the last 10 days, American authorities have arrested at least 900 protesters at pro-Palestine protests on college campuses, making this the widest police response to campus activism in years, and it may subject law enforcement agencies to challenges. Protests have mobilized in encampments and demonstrations across at least 79 universities, demanding academic institutions divest from the criminal Israeli occupation, amid Washignton's full-fledged support to the Israeli regime.
