Raisi calls on Muslim nations to prevent Israeli crimes in Gaza
The Pakistani and Iranian Presidents hold a phone call in which they discussed Palestinian issues, as well as a joint effort from Muslim countries to counter the Zionist crimes in Gaza.
The Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has once again stressed the need for Islamic nations to work together to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to halt the killing machine and war crimes in Gaza.
Raisi made his statements during a phone call with Pakistan President Arif Alvi on Wednesday.
He expressed optimism that the authorities of Iran and Pakistan will work more actively to actualize their vast possibilities for further collaboration, particularly in the sectors of energy, and emphasized the need for Pakistan to improve its security at its border.
The Pakistani President expressed appreciation for the Iranian efforts to bring Palestinian suffering to an end and support the rights of all oppressed people in Palestine, emphasizing that a joint effort and action of Muslim countries has the potential to stop the Zionist crimes in Gaza.
Touching on the UN's futility in ending the aggression on the people of Gaza, Alvi emphasized, "We should look for a serious change in the structure of international organizations and Muslims should be pioneers in this field."
Iran previously expressed its position the concept of the "two-state solution" in Palestine will not help the Palestinian cause since Palestine is currently occupied by Zionists.
Hamas is entrenched and difficult to defeat. Even after waging one of the most intense aggressions in recent history, "Israel" has only managed to neutralize a fraction of the Resistance group’s armed strength, a report by The Washington Post revealed.
In the process of going after an inherent Resistance, the Israeli occupation has ravaged the Strip, forcefully displaced close to 90 percent of the population, flattened entire neighborhoods, caused a dire humanitarian disaster, and found itself flailing in a losing battle for global public opinion.
Amid mounting pressure on "Israel" from its allies to conduct more "surgical" operations in the Strip, Israeli President Isaac Herzog pushed back and went as far as saying, "We intend to take over the entire Gaza Strip and change the course of history."
Children in Gaza have 'barely a drop to drink,' UNICEF warns
Children in the Gaza Strip have been receiving about 10% of the water they would typically require, thus leaving them with "barely a drop to drink," UNICEF warned in a statement.
This comes as CNN reported that "recently displaced children in the Southern Gaza Strip are accessing only 1.5 to 2 liters of water each day," stressing that normally 15 liters would be the minimum amount required for drinking, washing, and cooking, while sheer survival required a minimum of 3 liters.
UNICEF, in its statement on Wednesday, emphasized that water and sanitation services across the Strip have reached a "point of collapse," which prompted an alert as children will be the most impacted.
"The impact of this on children is particularly dramatic because children are also more susceptible to dehydration, diarrhea, disease and malnutrition, all of which can compound to present a threat to their survival," UNICEF warned, adding that "concerns of waterborne diseases such as cholera and chronic diarrhea are particularly heightened given the lack of safe water, especially following this week’s rains and flooding."
