Raisi funeral turnout proves loyalty to Revolution: Sayyed Khamenei
Sayyed Ali Khamenei highlights the importance of the massive turnout in the funeral ceremonies honoring the Iranian president, foreign minister, and their companions.
The leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, announced that the large turnout of Iranian people at funeral processions for the late President Ebrahim Raisi demonstrates the nation's unwavering loyalty to the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Sayyed Khamenei made these remarks during a meeting on Saturday in Tehran, in the presence of the families of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and six other companions who tragically lost their lives in last week's helicopter crash in the northwestern Iranian province of East Azerbaijan.
Addressing the enemy's propaganda and claims about the estrangement of the Iranian people from the Islamic Republic, the leader stated, "This incident, witnessed by the world and in practice, demonstrates the attachment and loyalty of the Iranian nation to the president and whosoever embodies the principles of the Revolution."
Commending President Raisi as an embodiment of the principles of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyed Khamenei said, "Sayyed Raisi consistently relied on the slogans of the Revolution and the words of the Imam from the outset of his candidacy, and the entire world recognized him as the president of the Revolution."
“When people support and honor this man in such a great way, it means supporting the slogans of the Revolution,” he stressed.
Sayyed Khamenei emphasized that the martyrs in this incident were characterized by their dedication and commitment to working for the people and serving the public, adding that “Martyr Raisi worked tirelessly day and night and was literally indefatigable."
He mentioned the funeral processions held in the cities of Tabriz, Qom, Tehran, Shahr-e-Rey, Birjand, Mashhad, Maragheh, Zanjan, and Najafabad, stating, “This glorious funeral showed that the Iranian nation is alive.”
Last week, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi alongside Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and accompanying officials passed away in a tragic helicopter crash in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, according to an official statement by Iranian state media.
After locating the helicopter carrying the Iranian President and accompanying officials on Monday morning, Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) issued a preliminary statement noting that there was "no sign of life" found near the wreckage locations.
The announcement came over 16 hours after the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps reported they had lost contact with the helicopter carrying the officials. Since then, at least 73 rapid response and rescue teams from the provinces of East Azarbaijan, Tehran, Alborz, Ardabil, Zanjan, and West Azarbaijan were involved in the search and rescue operations led by the Iranian RCS.
