Raisi heading on an official tour to Africa to develop economic ties

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is scheduled to head on an African tour as part of Iran's strategy to strengthen relations with friendly nations, Press TV reports. The tour will include visits to Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
President Raisi will hold discussions with his counterparts to explore opportunities for enhancing trade and political ties.
The visit, which will span three days, will involve meetings with high-ranking delegations, press conferences, and the signing of cooperation agreements.
President Raisi will also engage with local business leaders, economic actors, and officials to tap into shared economic and trade potentials.
This visit marks the first by an Iranian president to Africa in 11 years and aligns with Iran's comprehensive foreign policy and its pursuit of economic multilateralism, aiming to bolster Iran's presence in the African economy.

Earlier today, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced the signing of an agreement on the issuance of diplomatic visas and an expected one regarding normal visas with Algeria.
Amir-Abdollahian also touched on an agreement on accelerating cooperation in scientific, technological, knowledge-based companies, agriculture, medicine and medical equipment, industry, and mining fields during a joint press conference with his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf.
Iran's top diplomat also lauded Algeria for not allowing the observer membership of the Israeli occupation in the African Union, saying it has always supported Palestine and played an important role in the return of Syria to the Arab League.
Last month, the Iranian president went on an official tour to Latin America where he visited Nicaragua, Cuba, and Venezuela.
Ebrahim Raisi said that a new international order is emerging in favor of freedom-seeking, independent countries, emphasizing that opposition to arrogant powers has resulted in important successes.
