Raisi affirmed Tehran's seriousness in reaching a sustainable agreement.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that Iran has displayed its will and seriousness in reaching an agreement in the Vienna Talks, noting that the opposite party should make efforts, in this context, in ending the embargo, ensuring it, and securing guarantees in this regard."
In a phone call with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, Raisi added that "any effort made by the other side must include lifting the sanctions, ensuring it, and securing its guarantees," pointing out that Washington itself acknowledged "the failure of maximum pressure policies."
Furthermore, Raisi affirmed Tehran's seriousness in reaching a sustainable agreement.
He considered that "regional stability and security can only be achieved through means within the region, and not through foreign intervention."
Raisi, in the phone call, called on the international community to "tackle the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and to lift the siege imposed on the Yemeni people."
The two discussed regional issues, the nuclear negotiations in Vienna, lifting the sanctions on Iran, as well as the situation in Lebanon. In addition, they discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Yesterday, Friday, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Vienna reported that the Vienna talks, which are in their eighth round will break off for a few days to give way for consultation between delegations, resuming next week, according to an Iranian source close to the negotiating delegation.
