Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi confirmed on Wednesday that the US is seeking to destroy a strong Iran and replace it with a weak Iran, "but they are wrong," stressing that "the Iranian people will not allow them to do so."

During the ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of Student's Day in Ferdowsi Hall at the University of Tehran, Raisi stressed that "enemies are trying to disrupt the work of universities in order to impede our progress."

Furthermore, the Iranian president said "We are determined to listen to the demands of the protests and the students."

Raisi also stressed on the occasion that "Student's Day is a symbol of knowing the enemy and fighting it, and a symbol of insight and a sense of responsibility," noting that "the university is an intellectual institution and a center of consultation."

Rattling Iran's security is as futile as your sanctions: Raisi to West

Raisi confirmed in November that the attempts to rattle the country's security and stability will be futile just as the imposition of sanctions.

During his speech in Pakdasht, south of Tehran, the Iranian president said that the West could not isolate Iran and in fact isolated themselves, adding that they also failed to impede the country's development through their maximum pressure campaign, a fact that the West acknowledged.

Raisi reiterated that the government is "of the people, with the people and for the people" and further emphasized the will of the government, despite enemy efforts, to solve the people's economic and social crises such as housing and unemployment.
