Iran’s entire focus is on defending oppressed peoples, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Sunday, stressing that the Islamic Republic cannot remain silent in the face of what is happening in Gaza and occupied Palestine.
Pezeshkian made the remarks during the commemoration of the first anniversary of the martyrdom of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and former Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, at the Resistance Diplomacy Conference.
He further stated that “sound diplomacy does not remain silent in the face of the horrific massacres we are witnessing.”
The Iranian president also emphasized the need for “Islamic countries to confront the injustice being inflicted on the Palestinian people,” pointing out that "not only Islamic countries should shoulder such responsibility, rather the entirety of the world must support Gaza."
