Raisi: US is Responsible for the Terrorist Attacks On Afghanistan
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi meets with foreign ministers of Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan and stresses the importance of cooperation to achieve stability in Afghanistan.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met with the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan on the eve of the second meeting of Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan's Neighboring Countries.
During his meetings, Raisi stressed the importance of cooperation between neighboring countries in order to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan and to form a comprehensive government that includes all ethnicities and political groups.
Raisi pointed out that Iran has no doubts that the US is in a way or another responsible for the recent terrorist attacks that Afghanistan witnessed.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh stressed that the Tehran meeting rejects foreign interference in Afghanistan's political structure.
On Twitter, Khatibzadeh said that "lasting peace and stability depend on the fulfillment of the people's will," and stressed that Tehran's meeting aims to strengthen cooperation and convergence of neighboring countries instead of competition.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian mentioned that Tehran will host a meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring countries on Wednesday and that Iran plays an active role in the Afghan issue.
He also affirmed the need for stabilizing security in Afghanistan.
