Resistance in Gaza to continue supporting West Bank, Al-Nakhalah says
The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement speaks on the 36th anniversary of the foundation of the Palestinian Resistance group.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has an unwavering commitment to the path of struggle and resistance against the Israeli occupation, PIJ Secretary-General Ziyad Al-Nakhalah said on Thursday.
Speaking during a ceremony commemorating the 36th anniversary of the founding of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, Al-Nakhalah underlined that the PIJ would remain steadfast in its mission to achieve victory over the Israeli occupation.
The Resistance leader underlined the importance of the Resistance factions rising to the level of the existing challenges and fulfilling the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
There is an international bias, especially from the United States, toward the Israeli occupation, the PIJ chief said. "This enemy is an essential part of them, so they provide assistance to it."
"Israel kills Palestinians with American weapons, and the [Palestinian] authority arrests them under Israeli diktats," Al-Nakhalah stressed.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of unity among the resistance forces in the region in confronting the Israeli occupation, with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah at the forefront.
Turning his attention to the resistance brigades in the West Bank, Al-Nakhalah hailed their role as the spearhead in the project of resistance and their unwavering dedication. He further praised the resilience of the resistance forces in Gaza, characterizing them as "a true support for the Palestinian people" and an extension of the broader resistance efforts.
Al-Nakhalah also urged the resistance forces to prioritize the issue of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails, emphasizing that it should remain a daily concern until their liberation.
He also denounced the normalization of relations between some Arab countries and the Israeli occupation, accusing the former of seeking peace with "Tel Aviv" at the expense of the rights of the Palestinian people and arguing that only the Resistance fighters could put an end to what he called a disgrace on the behalf of the Arabs.
"Arabs come to Israel humiliated, seeking its peace, and they collapse before it in a tragic scene," Al-Nakhalah stressed.
"We are more than ever against this path, from the Camp David Agreement to the Wadi Araba summit and the Oslo Accords," he underlined.
"30 years have gone by [since the signing of the Oslo Accords], and we are still in the same place regarding the [Palestine] Liberation Organization and Israel. The lies and illusory decisions are still in place despite all that the occupation is inflicting on the Palestinians in the West Bank."
In conclusion, Al-Nakhala reflected on Operation Avenging the Free, a pivotal event in the Islamic Jihad's history, in which the organization faced the Israeli military for five continuous days.
He commended the resilience of al-Quds Brigades, the PIJ's armed wing, despite the loss of key figures. He reaffirmed the PIJ's determination to persist in its struggle against the Israeli occupation despite the losses it sustained.
