Palestinian Resistance factions launched a series of coordinated attacks targeting Israeli occupation forces across various locations in the Gaza Strip, according to statements released on Thursday.
The military wing of Hamas, al-Qassam Brigades, announced that it had struck a D9 Israeli military bulldozer near the Murtaja Junction in the Ma’an area south of Khan Younis. The bulldozer was reportedly hit with a Yassin-105 anti-armor RPG. The group also fired 80mm mortar shells at Israeli troop gatherings near the Umm Habiba Mosque in the Qizan al-Najjar area, also in southern Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), released footage showing the seizure of two Israeli drones, identified as the Bombardier 1 and EVO MAX 3, during reconnaissance missions over northern Gaza. The brigades stated the operation was part of an ongoing response to the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people.
Al-Quds Brigades engage Israeli soldiers
Separately, the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, broadcast scenes from a joint operation with the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, showing them targeting Israeli soldiers in southeastern Khan Younis with mortar shells.
Separately, Israeli forces advancing into the Gaza Strip were hit by an ambush on Tuesday, when a drone strike targeted an Israeli patrol in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Israeli media outlets described the incident as a “serious security event” and confirmed that there were injuries among the occupying troops.
This comes days after the al-Qassam Brigades announced that its fighters had targeted an Israeli D9 military bulldozer with a Yassin-105 anti-armor RPG in the southern Gaza Strip.
The operation took place on Sunday in the area of Qizan al-Najjar, south of Khan Younis, amid an ongoing series of ambushes and confrontations against the Israeli occupation forces inside the besieged territory.
This latest strike comes just days after al-Qassam fighters successfully executed a well-coordinated ambush against an infantry unit of Israeli occupation soldiers in the Atatara area of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza. According to a military communiqué, resistance fighters engaged the Israeli unit from point-blank range with light weapons after luring them into a carefully laid ambush on May 27.
IOF face mounting losses from Palestinian Resistance ops
The al-Qassam Brigades announced on May 31 that their fighters had ambushed a Zionist infantry unit in a carefully planned trap and engaged them at point-blank range with light weapons during a May 27 operation. The al-Qassam fighters confirmed fatalities and injuries among the Israeli forces.
The brigades also reported on May 30 that they had jointly carried out an operation with Saraya al-Quds against an Israeli-aligned collaborationist unit in southern Gaza, as fighting continued and truce talks remained deadlocked.
In their statement, al-Qassam detailed that the collaborationist force had been sheltering inside a home in Khan Younis's European Housing complex when Resistance fighters hit the building with both a TBG bunker-busting round and a fragmentation shell, causing fatalities and injuries among the unit's members.
The brigades announced on May 25 that their fighters had rigged a house where Israeli soldiers were sheltering with multiple high-explosive devices and detonated it in the early hours of May 20, causing the building to collapse and inflicting heavy casualties on the troops inside.
