Reuters Denies Rumors that "Tel Aviv" Will Intercept Iranian Ship
After Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's announcement, information circulated about Reuters quoting Israeli officials that "Tel Aviv" will intercept the ship - the agency denies the validity of this information.
Reuters news agency denied quotes from Israeli officials regarding the Iranian fuel ship to Lebanon.
The agency said that it did not report Israeli officials quoting that "Tel Aviv" will not allow the ship to pass to Lebanon.
Reuters also denied quoting Israeli officials addressing "heated days on the Mediterranean front."
This comes after the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, announced the sailing of the first ship from Iran to Lebanon, deeming it Lebanese territory and warning against its interception.
In the same context, Israeli media earlier reported that Israeli officials said that the economic collapse in Lebanon and the power vacuum created in the country are putting the Israeli security system on alert and that the fall of Lebanon brings “Israel” closer to war.
It is noteworthy that Naftali Bennett, Israeli Prime Minister, confirmed in the weekly cabinet meeting that "Israel" is closely following the situation in Lebanon and that the political and security leadership is always on alert.
Bennett also said that “The citizens of Lebanon are paying a heavy price for the Iranian takeover of the country.”
