A coalition of international human rights organizations has called for the immediate execution of arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Security Minister Yoav Gallant over war crimes committed during the genocidal war on Gaza.

In a joint statement released to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the groups, including al-Karama for Human Rights (Geneva), Torture Victims Association (Geneva), al-Shabaka Center for Human Rights (London), Free Voice for Human Rights (Paris), EFDD International Organization (Belgium), Adalah Foundation for Human Rights (Istanbul), and Solidarity for Human Rights (Geneva), emphasized the responsibility of Israeli officials for atrocities committed in the besieged Palestinian territory.

They expressed full support for The Hague-based tribunal’s measures, urging swift enforcement of the arrest warrants targeting Israeli leaders for actions such as the use of starvation as a weapon of war, alongside crimes against humanity, including intentional killing, persecution, and other acts classified as inhumane treatment.

The organizations stressed that sustainable peace cannot be realized without ending the occupation and holding Israeli officials accountable for their actions.

Call for justice amid fragile ceasefire

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People comes as Gaza remains under a fragile ceasefire that has done little to alleviate what rights groups describe as a catastrophic humanitarian crisis affecting more than two million people.

They noted that Palestinians in Gaza continue to be deprived of basic necessities, including food, water, healthcare, electricity, and shelter, while entire neighborhoods lie in ruins following relentless Israeli airstrikes that left hundreds of thousands homeless.

Symbolic gestures alone are no longer sufficient, the groups warned, saying the Israeli regime’s oppressive policies and ongoing occupation remain the primary source of Palestinian suffering.

Solidarity must translate into action

The organizations said the international day serves as a global appeal to uphold moral and legal responsibilities toward a population enduring one of the world’s longest military occupations, characterized by systemic violence and a suffocating blockade.

Real solidarity, they stressed, begins with denouncing violations, ending impunity, and supporting the Palestinians’ right to establish an independent state across the entirety of Palestinian territories, with al-Quds as its capital.

They underscored that the Israeli occupation's actions in Gaza since October 2023 constitute absolute or complete extermination under the 1948 Genocide Convention, calling for immediate and decisive international intervention. Governments and international bodies, they insisted, must pressure the Israeli authorities to comply with international humanitarian law, end attacks on civilians, and allow unrestricted humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Mounting death toll and destruction

Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have killed more than 70,100 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured at least 170,900 others in a two-year war that has reduced much of Gaza to rubble.

In its latest update issued on Monday, the ministry confirmed that 356 Palestinians have been martyred and 909 injured since the ceasefire took effect on October 11 of this year, due to Israeli occupation fire targeting various areas across the Strip.

According to the Health Ministry, many victims are still trapped under rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews remain unable to reach them due to continuous threats and restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation.
