RSF bomb hospital in Sudan in new war crime
The Rapid Support Forces in Sudan have bombed the El-Fasher Hospital with a barrage of missiles, wounding dozens.
The governor of the Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi, stated that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) “push their hatred to the utmost extent of their power against the citizens of El Fasher," as he published footage of El-Fasher Hospital bombed by the RSF on Friday with a barrage of missiles.
The RSF withdrew from the eastern borders of El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, western Sudan, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced Sunday.
Minawi published pictures of Al-Fasher Hospital, which was bombed by the Rapid Support Forces yesterday, Friday, with a barrage of missiles, at a time when it is the only hospital that receives hundreds of wounded and sick people daily.

In this context, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Darfur Regional Government condemned the horrific bombing of El-Fasher Hospital, which led to the injury and wounding of dozens of women, children, and service providers, calling it a war crime and an attempt to execute patients and medical and administrative staff working in the hospital’s wards and departments."
The ministry added that this bombing occurred despite repeated warnings not to attack civilians and hospitals, calling on the international community to immediately stop the bombing of hospitals and protect patients and medical personnel working in hospitals and health centers.
The Ministry also condemned the RSF's indiscriminate bombing of the neighborhoods of Al-Amal, Baranjieh, Al-Kifah, Al-Salam, and Al-Inqaz, which killed civilians and wounded others.
Meanwhile, Sudanese media reported that the villages of Al-Hush and Al-Hasahisa in Al-Jazeera State in central Sudan are being displaced due to looting raids carried out by the RSF, which resulted in 8 deaths and dozens of wounded civilians.
HRW: Looming disaster in El Fasher
Earlier, Human Rights Watch (HRW) urged the United Nations and African Union to swiftly implement an arms embargo on Sudan and deploy a mission with a strong police force to Darfur in order to safeguard civilians.
According to a report released by HRW earlier in the month, sanctions are sought against those deemed accountable for extensive war crimes, including West Darfur RSF commander Abdel Rahman Joma’a Barakallah, and the commander of the RSF, Mohamed Hemedti Hamdan Dagalo, and his brother Abdel Raheem.
"As the UN security council and governments wake up to looming disaster in El Fasher, the large-scale atrocities committed in El Geneina should be seen as a reminder of the atrocities that could come in the absence of concerted action," explained Tirana Hassan, the executive director at Human Rights Watch.
The United Nations children's agency UNICEF issued an urgent appeal for action earlier in May to protect children amid escalating violence in Sudan's North Darfur region.
Expressing profound concern, UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell highlighted the intensifying violence in North Darfur, particularly in and around el-Fasher city.
