Russia accuses UK of 'directing and coordinating' Nord Stream blasts
The West should "carefully" analyze Moscow's information, as per Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
Explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines were "directed and coordinated" by Britain, according to the Kremlin.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters said that "our intelligence services have data indicating that British military specialists were directing and coordinating the attack."
"There is evidence that Britain is involved in sabotage, in a terrorist attack on vital energy infrastructure, not Russian, but international," he added.
He asserted that the West should "carefully" analyze Moscow's information.
"We expect that despite the unacceptable silence of the European countries, this analysis will nevertheless be carried out," he said.
He further added that Russia would also consider further steps.
On its account, London has denied the charges.
Earlier today, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova asserted that the world needs to know about the text message sent from British Prime Minister Liz Truss to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken - "It's done" after the attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea.
Kim Dotcom, the founder of Megaupload, a file-sharing website, tweeted that Truss used her iPhone to send a message to Blinken saying "it's done" after the pipeline exploded. According to him, Russian intelligence knows that the UK was behind the sabotage.
Russia accuses UK Royal Navy
Last week, the Russian Defense Ministry revealed that the UK Royal Navy was involved in the attack on Nord Stream.
In a statement, the Ministry said, "According to the obtained data, the UK Navy representatives took part in planning, organizing, and carrying out the terrorist act in the Baltic Sea on September 26, 2022, to blow up the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines."
Last month, in addition, a spokesperson for the pipeline's operator, Sergei Kupriyanov, said a NATO mine destroyer was discovered around the Nord Stream 1 natural gas pipeline in November 2015.
Kupriyanov recalled how NATO claimed at the time that the device was lost during exercises conducted in the region. He also highlighted how the device was pulled out by the Swedish armed forces, who then defused it.
