Russian Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Alexander Shulgin, expressed Russia's concern on Wednesday regarding "Israel's" planned use of nerve agents or other chemical weapons in alleged underground tunnels in Gaza.

His address at the OPCW session witnessed calling out media reports that "Israel" intends to apply nerve gas or other chemical weapons to clear out Palestinian Resistance fighters from underground tunnels under the command and control of the US special forces from the Delta Force unit.

Shulgin echoed Russia's joining the call made in Palestine and other signatory states to the OPCW to prepare, if necessary, appropriate measures, and immediately respond to potential and possible incidents in the future.

He urged "Israel" on behalf of Russia to ratify the Chemical Weapons Convention as soon as possible.

Iran echoed a similar call through Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Reza Najafi, who said on Monday that reports showing "Israel's" preparation to use nerve agents in tunnels requires a probe.

Najafi recalled Israeli "Heritage" Minister Amihai Eliyahu's comments suggesting that a nuclear bomb against the civilian population in Gaza should be used - describing it as proof of the fact "Israel" possesses mass weapons of murder that potentially pose a major threat to peace and security in the region.

#Iran has urged the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to investigate recent reports indicating that “Israel” is gearing up to unlawfully deploy chemical weapons in Gaza.

Hiroshima twice over and once again

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor reported earlier this month that the Israeli media acknowledged dropping 10,000 bombs on Gaza since the beginning of the aggression on October 7 - with the weight of explosives launched on Gaza exceeding 25,000 tons at a rate of 70 tons per square kilometer.

It noted that this amount of explosives is equivalent to twice the power of the US nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

The Geneva-based organization said the Israeli occupation army claimed that its warplanes targeted more than 12,000 "targets" in the Gaza Strip, whereby the share of each individual in the Strip exceeds 10 kilograms of explosives.

The organization also pointed out that "Israel" is deliberately using a mixture of explosives known as RDX, with a strength times 1.34 of TNT.
