West Ignores Israeli nuclear rhetoric due to double-standards: Russia
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova warns that the double standards issue on the Israeli nuclear threat matter is not only the problem of the US, but Europe as well.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova relayed on Tuesday during an interview with RT that the West is deliberately ignoring "Israel’s" aggressive nuclear rhetoric as a result of the double-standard policy on its agenda.
"The West manifests double standards, just today we mentioned the West’s position, under which it condemns, denies, and tries to outlaw at all costs the terrorist acts in Middle Eastern countries, while the West ignores similar terrorist acts committed, for instance, by Kiev against Russia’s civil cities," Zakharova said.
"If you believe it is solely the problem of the current US administration, I would like to say that this is not the case," she added.
According to the Foreign Ministery spokesperson, the situation with possible weapons tests at a nuclear test site in Nevada in the United States is also being monitored by Russia.

"We saw these reports, they were commented on by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister [Sergey] Ryabkov. In particular, he stated that we are not talking about testing nuclear weapons and that this explosion does not contradict either the US moratorium on testing or the provisions of the CTBT, which has not entered into force. We will indeed be monitoring this situation as it develops," she told RT.
'Provocative' and inhumane
Zakharova previously condemned Israeli "Heritage" Minister Amihai Eliyahu's remarks regarding the potential use of a nuclear weapon in the Gaza Strip as "provocative" and "unacceptable".
Days ago, after Eliyahu said nuking the Gaza Strip is on the table in light of the ongoing aggression on the Palestinian people, Zakharova announced that this confirmed that "Israel" owned a nuclear arsenal.
When asked to comment about the remarks made by Eliyahu, Zakharova remarked that such statements were "noteworthy" for multiple reasons.
This comes on the same day after the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) was called on by Iran to investigate reports stating that "Israel" is preparing to deploy illegal chemical weapons against Gaza recently.
During the OPCW’s 28th session of the Conference of the States Parties, Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Reza Najafi said on Monday that reports showing "Israel's" preparation to use nerve agents in tunnels allegedly run by Palestinian Resistance in Gaza requires a probe.
Najafi recalled Eliyahu's comments suggesting that a nuclear bomb against the civilian population in Gaza should be used - describing it as proof of the fact that "Israel" possesses mass weapons of murder that potentially pose a major threat to peace and security in the region.
