Russia condemns Israeli attack on Damascus Int'l Airport
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, condemned "Israel's" firing of missiles in south Damascus.
Moscow condemned the Israeli airstrike on Damascus International Airport and has called on "Israel" to put an end to the aggression, said the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova.
On Thursday, the Syrian Ministry of Defense said that "Israel" has fired missiles at a number of targets south of Damascus, asserting that the Israeli warplanes aimed to hit the airport.
"In this regard, we are forced to emphasize again that the ongoing Israeli shelling of the Syria territory … is absolutely unacceptable. We strongly condemn Israel's provocative attack on critical Syrian civilian infrastructure," the spokeswoman said in a statement, published by the ministry.
Such strikes, according to Zakharova, are creating risks "for international air traffic."
"We demand from the Israeli side to halt such activities," Zakharova added.
