Russia exported military equipment worth $6Bln in first half of 2022
Russian President Vladimir Putin praises Russian Defense industry enterprises as they make advances based on real combat experiences and under highly stressful situations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, during a meeting with heads of companies in the Russian defense industry on Tuesday, that the country's defense industry is boosting national security while also holding dominant positions on global markets.
Putin praised Russian defense industry enterprises for the clear improvement in their work based on the experiences from real combat operations.
The Russian President said, "Today, given the current situation, challenges and threats our country is facing, defense industry enterprises are working under pressure, in an intensive mode.”
Additionally, he explained that labor staff promptly solve intricate tasks, reorganize production and improve products in accordance with the experience of real military operations," calling it “heroism".
Russian President further added that the locally-manufactured weapons have proven highly efficient in Ukraine.
On the topic, he noted that "first of all, this applies to aviation, high-precision long-range missiles, aviation weapons, rockets and artillery, and armored weapons," adding that the equipment "allows the destruction of the enemy’s military infrastructure, command posts, equipment, striking the locations of nationalist formations while minimizing losses among the personnel."
As for the weapons export records of Russia, Putin said that "only for six months of the current year, our industry exported military equipment worth over $6 billion to foreign partners, despite all the circumstances, which everyone is aware of," adding that the industry was contributing "a lot" to Russia's security.
Lastly, the President advised everyone in attendance to focus on the most particular and serious organizational, budgetary, and technical issues. He stressed that "of course, we will discuss issues related to the supply of weapons, equipment and ammunition to the troops, first and foremost, those participating in the special military operation."
